what engine is powerfull enough to lift an rc plane off the ground and keep it steady in the air?
Hey guys i am trying to build an rc plane and the most important component of an rc plane is the engine because a plane needs something to stay steady at takeoff,steady in flight and at landing.What engine should i use/buy.Pls reply via email (bfhmartino@yahoo.com) or in the comments, with the right Model engine!
First you need to know if your going with glow or electric engine. It really just depends on the weight and size of the overall plane. If you go with electric then you need to figure out how many ounces the plane weighs then figure out how many ounces of thrust the motor has. You definitely need more ounces of thrust then the plane weighs. For a motor I would use the next step up then the one you think you need. More power is always better! I would recommend brushless motors. There lighter and usually more powerful. There also nice and quite.
The link below shows some good motors. You would need one of the outrunners. The 370 and 400 are both great motors.
